Tower Safety Policy

SAFETY CODE FOR TOWER USERS

  1. The Tower Risk Assessment and the Tower Fire Risk Assessment are part of St Michael’s Safety Policy and apply at all times.
  2. Bellringing and tuition of bellringing is carried out according to the guidelines of the Central Council and Ecclesiastical Insurance.
  3. The oak staircase is closed to members of the public. However, if accompanied by a churchwatcher or other authorised person, visitors are allowed to climb the 8 stone steps at the bottom, in order to view the oak flight.

Safeguarding Adults

Policy statement on the safeguarding of adults

This statement was adopted by the Parish of St Michael’s and All Angels at a Parochial Church Council meeting held on 23rd June 2011.

This policy will be reviewed each year to monitor the progress that has been made.

1.    We recognise that everyone has different levels of vulnerability and that each of us may be regarded as vulnerable at some time in our lives.

2.    As members of this parish we commit ourselves to respectful pastoral care for all adults to whom we minister.

3.    We commit ourselves to the safeguarding of people who may be vulnerable, ensuring their well-being in the life of this church.
